"Amid the spike in the number of cases in Maharashtra, schools where coronavirus cases have been found, local authorities have been directed to ensure that necessary hygiene and disinfection measures are taken, state education minister Varsha Gaikwad said."

Maharashtra Board 2021 Exam Pattern will be varying from the other papers. The exam will be held in the offline mode and students have to answer very short, short, long, and essay type questions. The questions will be asked from the syllabus of Maharashtra Board 2021. Candidates should go through the exam pattern while they are preparing for the exam as it helps them work on their time management skills. They must practice previous years’ question papers to know the Maharashtra HSC exam pattern better. 

Maharashtra Board 2021 each exam will be for 100 marks, wherein 80 marks will be allotted to theory and 20 marks to practicals/oral/project. For subjects such as Geology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, agriculture science and technology, and animal science and technology 70 marks will be allotted for theory exam, and 30 marks will be fixed for practical/oral/project. A minimum of 35% will be required from the students to qualify an exam.

Maharashtra board exam 2021 dates

Earlier, education minister Varsha Gaikwad had also stated the dates of the Maharashtra Board Exams 2021 for students of classes 10 and 12. The exams are usually held in February and March, which have to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year the theory examinations for both the classes will be conducted in the months of April and May. The practical exams for Class 12 will be held between April 1 and 22, and for Class 10 between April 9 and 28.

“The written exams for Class 12 will be held between April 23 and May 29, and for Class 10 between April 29 and May 31. We are trying to declare the results of Classes 12 and 10 by July-end and August-end, respectively," the minister said.

Maharashtra Board Class 12 Exams

Maharashtra board class 12 exam 2021 will be conducted around the month of February 2021. However, the teachers have requested the board to delay the exam as there is a large part of the syllabus left to be covered. The board has not taken any action regarding the same. In class 12 there are five subjects including English, which is a compulsory language paper. Apart from the other three compulsory subjects, students can choose any language paper as their fifth subject. In every subject, the total marks will be 100 and the minimum marks required to pass will be 35%.

Maharashtra board class 10 exams will be conducted in the month of Feb/March 2021. In class 10 there are five subjects and each subject carries 100 marks. For every subject, there will be an internal assessment of 10-20 marks which will be handled by the respective schools. The syllabus of class 10 has also been reduced by 20%. Marathi language and literature will be an optional paper and students can take it as their fifth paper. It shall be compulsory to pass in both compulsory and elective subjects.

Addition of 25% objective questions: About the new assessment scheme, the Maharashtra Board has taken the choice of adding a 25% objective type test in the HSC examination question paper. These objective questions will be presented in the form of numerous choice questions or MCQs’.

The Decrease in total marks for final assessment: Additional noteworthy change announced by the Maharashtra Boar in the pattern of the HSC exam is the decrease in the total number of marks. But, this will be in effect from the next school session, in which the overall marks will be 600 instead of 650.

Internal assessment/ practical constituents of all subjects-

The Board has familiarized what is known as the internal assessment or the practice test of the overall of 20 marks for all subjects of class 12th. So, presently the theory paper will have 80 marks and the practical internal assessment/exam of 20 marks, which include up to the overall of 100 marks. These 20 marks would be separated in the following way-

  • 5 marks would be for catching skills
  • 5 marks for speech skills
  • Total 10 marks for the respective subject connected activity/experiment.

The aspirants are guided to go through the exam date sheet keeping in mind the remember exam pattern so get them to introduce the changes in the pattern of the paper. Each aspirant accepted a minimum mark of 35% to pass the examination.

In the class 10th board exams, there are five subjects- Science, Mathematics, Social Science, English, and Hindi. All of the subjects carry 100 marks except Mathematics. In the math part, the overall marks allotted are 150 marks. Aspirants are expected to secure a minimum of 35% aggregate marks to clear the examination. And in every subject, the minimum marks accepted are 35%. If any aspirants have secured 35% marks but 34 or fewer marks in any subject then she/he has to appear for the supplementary exam. For mathematics, the minimum marks accepted to clear in the exam is 52.
